Where I Started Out

When I first became a nail artist 17 years ago, I started the way many of us do—with the basics. Manicures, natural nail care, and gel polish laid the foundation of my career. As my confidence grew, I ventured into acrylics and hard gel, beginning with tip and overlay methods, and eventually tackling the challenge of sculpting forms.

Each stage brought new skills—and its fair share of frustrations. While I did master sculpting, I’ve never been a naturally fast worker. I found myself constantly searching for a technique that could deliver beautiful, strong nails without the time-consuming task of tailoring forms.

I valued the expertise I gained from sculpting, but I craved something better suited to the fast-paced, back-to-back schedule of salon life.

Then this turning point changed everything

In 2019, I discovered the dual form technique—and everything suddenly clicked into place. At first, it was confusing. Quality education on the method was hard to come by, and I made just about every mistake possible. But I didn’t give up.

Instead, I committed to truly understanding the technique. I took several courses, tested, practiced, and refined my approach until I mastered it inside and out.

The transformation that happened next

Today, dual forms are at the heart of my business. Since 2023, nearly all of my clients have worn hard gel extensions applied using this technique—and I haven’t had to turn a single one away. Whether they have standard nails, downward-growing nails, upward-growing nails, or even bitten nails, I know exactly how to adapt the method to suit them.

The results speak for themselves: 4 weeks of wear, minimal finish filing, happy clients who trust me completely—and all in less time than sculpting.
